A RALLYING CALL TO ALL NIGERIANS
The book is Nigeria unraveled. It succinctly articulates the real problems with Nigeria and proffers well reasoned and practical ways about how the country can be made to work for all of its citizens.
As Nigeria takes one more turn into another political season, the book is intended as a roadmap for how the country can be reformed.
The book consists of four parts. Part A deconstructs and lays bare the root of Nigeria’s problems and provides a unique multi-metrical and analytical perspective of how they have tracked Nigeria from its beginnings until this day.
Part B provides carefully articulated solutions to Nigeria’s problems; from constitutional and electoral reforms to rule of law and infrastructure.
Part C explores the methods by which the solutions could be actualized considering that as a matter of conventional wisdom, change, especially change that threatens to upturn the cart of the status quo, will be aggressively resisted by those who will benefit if the status quo remains intact.
Part D consists of letters to selected Nigerians and reminds everyone of them of the need to become part of a collective drive to bring about the much-needed change in Nigeria.
The book is intended as a mirror of self and purpose re-evaluation for the teeming multitudes of politicians who have readied themselves once more for another season of unrestrained free-wheeling and barefaced thievery in Nigeria.
It is a reminder to Nigerians everywhere that we can no longer afford to be part and parcel of the stench and vile that our dear nation has become either by our inaction or by our active participation. That the more we sit or stand by while it is further subjected to irreparable despoliation by conmen and bandits in government and a moral fiber that has been worn thin by corrosive behavior, the more we stand to lose a country we all can call home.
It is a wakeup call to Nigerians of every stride and stripe no matter where they may be that we cannot keep hoping that one day Nigeria will be magically transformed through an act of God because no where else in the world has building a prosperous country depended entirely on God.
It is a rallying call to all progressive-minded Nigerians and it is a call to every Nigerian irrespective of ethnicity and religious creed and the only choice available is to be part of the solution and not part of the problem for no matter how long we dilly dally and procrastinate and no matter how much disappointed and disaffected we have become, change is very possible in Nigeria.
